Dr. Taha Amin Shokuhfar is a board-eligible neurologist and clinical neurophysiology specialist at West Coast Neurology, bringing advanced expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of neuromuscular disorders, and stroke. He completed his Clinical Neurophysiology Fellowship at the University of California, San Diego, where he honed his skills in epilepsy monitoring, electromyography (EMG), and intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring (IONM).
Dr. Shokuhfar completed his Neurology Residency at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. He has extensive experience in a variety of neurological procedures, including EEG, Botox injections for migraine management, and stroke management. His clinical research includes primary investigator on provisional patent to development of thermoencephalography, a novel noninvasive approach for diagnosis of acute stroke in-field.
A recipient of multiple awards, including the Joe Niekro SNIS Foundation Research Grant for stroke research. Dr. Shokuhfar 's publications span several peer-reviewed journals and presentations at national and international conferences. Dr. Shokuhfar is an active member of professional organizations including the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) and the American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine (AANEM).
When not in the clinic, he enjoys reading, playing racquetball, hiking, and tennis.
