Dr. Deborah Leong is a native Southern Californian. She graduated from UC Irvine with a degree in Psychology and minor in Biology. She attended Fuller Theological Seminary Graduate School of Psychology where in addition to receiving her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, she earned a M.A. in Theology.
Dr. Leong completed a Division 40 internship in Neuropsychology at the VA West Los Angeles and a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology at the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute.
She has worked in both inpatient and outpatient medical settings as a Clinical Neuropsychologist where she evaluated a variety of patients including stroke, traumatic brain injury, dementia, Epilepsy, Parkinson’s Disease and other neurological disorders. Additional she has worked clinically with patients and their families as they adjust and adapt to the cognitive and emotional issues related to their current medical issues. Dr. Leong’s passion has always focused on helping her patients and their families develop strategies to compensate for the cognitive and emotional changes associated with their situations.
In addition to her clinical work, she is active in research studies with various pharmaceutical companies.
Dr. Leong enjoys spending time with her husband and children. In her spare time, she enjoys baking and cooking.
