Dr. Nune has had a long-standing fascination with the brain and nervous system, completing his undergraduate studies at UC Berkeley in Cognitive Science and Molecular and Cell Biology/Neurobiology. Following this, he earned a medical degree at Northwestern University followed by Neurology residency and fellowship training in Epilepsy/Neurophysiology at the Stanford University Medical Center.
Dr. Nune worked for eight years in academic medicine at USC specializing in Epilepsy with a range of research and teaching responsibilities before joining West Coast Neurology to focus primarily on patient care for a variety of Neurologic diagnoses.
Dr. Nune attempts to treat his patients with core values of empathy, honesty, diligence, and respect. An honest and direct patient-physician relationship is necessary to understand patients’ values, goals, sources of social support and beliefs about medicine. This allows for targeting of treatments to the individual rather than just the disease. One of the best aspects of the medical field is that the interests of patients and providers are aligned, the goal is to help patient lead their most productive lives and minimize suffering or disability.
