Dr. Brizuela was born and raised in South East Los Angeles before attending college at University of Caifornia Berkeley. While at UC Berkeley his love for neurology and neuroscience began to blossom; allowing him to obtain a bachelor’s degree in molecular cell biology and cognitive science with an emphasis in neuroscience. Afterwards, he returned to sunny Southern California and attended Medical School at USC (Keck School of Medicine).
Dr. Brizuela completed his Neurology residency training at University of California, Irvine and then returned to USC for fellowship training in Clinical Neurophysiology. During his fellowship training he gained extensive knowledge in electroencephalography (EEG), electromyography (EMG) and nerve conduction studies. On a personal note,
Dr. Brizuela and was born and raised in Southeast Los Angeles, is fluent in Spanish, and has special interest in Latino neurological healthcare. He enjoys “temperament analysis,” traveling, music, and playing guitar.
